For many years, Rev. James Lawson led a monthly training at Holman United Methodist Church focused on nonviolent resistance. As one of the key advocates for nonviolence in the Civil Rights movement, Rev. Lawson drew on his extensive experience and conceptual framework to develop a new generation of leaders committed to nonviolent activism. We seek to build on his legacy to carry the principles and practices of nonviolent activism into a new era.
